Every company needs an address in order to exist on paper: it goes into the articles of association, the Junta Comercial, the CNPJ and the tax registrations. Not every company needs physical premises in order to work — and it is that gap between the two that a virtual office closes.

It suits people working from home who would rather not have their home address on the CNPJ, those serving clients in another state, and those who discovered at the feasibility check that their activity is not permitted at their home address — far more common than it sounds.

  1. 1. Check the address suits your activity

    Not every address accepts every CNAE. Before signing, we check with the city hall whether the activity is permitted at that location — the same feasibility check used when registering a company. Signing before checking is the mistake that costs money and time.

    The partner issues the lease or address-assignment contract, which is the document the Junta Comercial and the city hall ask for. Without that document in the right format, the registration stalls.

    The address goes into the articles, the CNPJ and the municipal and state registrations. An existing company can migrate: it is a contract amendment, and it is worth checking the impact of changing municipality first, because ISS changes with it.

    Correspondence from public bodies arrives at the registered address, and notices carry deadlines. This is the quiet part and the most important: receipt with notification and scanning avoids missing a deadline because a letter sat in a box.

It does, provided the contract is in the required format and the activity is permitted at that address by the city hall. Both conditions are verified before signing — which is precisely why the check comes first.
Could I use my home address instead?
Many service activities can, if the municipality and the building allow it. The feasibility check answers it for your case. Where it works, it is cheaper; the virtual office exists for when it does not, or when you would rather not expose your home address on the CNPJ, which is public data.
Do I receive my mail?
Yes, with notification and scanning. That matters more than it sounds: notices from public bodies carry deadlines, and a deadline missed because a letter sat unopened costs more than the monthly fee.
Can I use it to register in another state?
